Veteran Mentors has changed who my wonderful son is, the continued interaction, guidance and support he gets from his one-on-one mentoring has cemented the drive in him to be motivated, disciplined and to love himself. He still gives his mum a hard time 😉 but much less! Outside the home, everyone calls me to tell me how impressed they are with him, how great his manners are, how thoughtful he is. We do one-on-ones weekly to maintain consistency and it works. He loves his mentor and looks forward to seeing him. I highly recommend this program.

This camp has been a God send. Our boy has come home a completely different person thanks to Max Garcia, he dis an amazing job in not only listening to our boy but hearing him and his needs. All the staff have done an amazing job and I highly recommend this program to anyone who is struggling with their child.

I highly reccomend this program to parents whos teens are struggling with life or have fallen off track. My daughter has attended twice and will go again, she has thrived and she absolutely loves going, and continues to learn so much about herself. She now does one on one with her fantastic mentor she had at camp. This program is amazing and the mentors are extremely encouraging and supportive.

The mentors and this camp are amazing! I picked up a different child, a much happier and focused young lady to the lost girl I sent off to camp. I would happily recommend to anyone!

A wonderful program that all adolescents should attend. So amazing that these veterans share their experience and expertise to assist our teens to be better people and reach their potential. The parents program is a must do as an opportunity to share with other parents and learn tools to continue the great work at home. The follow on support is brilliant and very much appreciated. I cannot stop singing the accolades for the people involved and the program itself.

Words will never be enough to express how much gratitude I have for the help you have given my daughter. You and all the mentors have done an amazing job in supporting Carla these past 9 days. She has come home stronger, confident and as beautiful as ever. Thank you.

We know the fight you’re in. You’ve given everything – patience, love, tough talks – but the challenges keep coming. You’re worn down because you care deeply, and because you want better for your child. You’ve tried what you know, but nothing’s shifted yet.
That’s where we step in.
Our ex-service personnel bring real discipline, structure, and respect back into young lives. Veteran Mentors is a unique 9-day youth military style program designed for transformation aimed at high-school students aged 12 – 17 years old. We empower these kids and teach them to be accountable for their behaviour. We get them out of their comfort zones and foster positive self-esteem and shine a light on their relationships.
Grounded by core values of Respect, Resilience, Courage, Honesty, Teamwork, and Initiative, we challenge your teen to push past their limits and discover their true potential. Skills learned in the Australian Defence Force helping participants to forge their own path.
This isn’t just a program – it’s a mission to reset, refocus, and reclaim the path forward.
We’re ready when you are.
Respectfully,
Glenn, Troy – Veteran Mentor Founders.

We are beyond grateful to the mentors and what they have done with our son. He has really grown over the 9 days at camp into a young man we can be proud of. “B” was starting to go down the wrong path; his school work was deteriorating – even being suspended. He had a horrible attitude and was very negative. He would not help out around the house and when asked, would rudely comment and not do it. He was running off without us knowing where he was. He just had a negative outlook on everything and us as parents. Everything has changed and his outlook on life is now positive and he is more willing to help out and be a positive part to our family. He is using his manners. And most importantly, he seems happier within himself and his attitude seems happier and relaxed.

I can’t express enough gratitude to the Veteran Mentors team for the incredible transformation in my two boys, aged 14 and 15. After years of school refusal, they are now attending school every day, eating healthier, and even engaging in team sports and PT sessions, something I never thought possible.
If your child is struggling with confidence, direction, or self-esteem, I highly recommend giving them the life-changing opportunity to attend this camp. My boys were hesitant, with tears and tantrums leading up to it, but they pushed through and now, they are genuinely proud of themselves.
The Parent Seminar was equally invaluable. We gained so much insight, and knowing we can attend as often as we need is an incredible support system that helps us keep things on track at home. This program has been a game-changer for our family, and I wholeheartedly recommend it to any parent looking for real, lasting change.

What an amazing program! My 13 year old daughter attended and has learnt so much especially about herself and how to love herself. Although there has been a few hiccups since leaving (as any 13 year old girl would lol) she is much more respectful and listens and accepts consequences. This program should be available to kids in the justice system instead of incarcerating them give them a chance to change without the negative influences in their lives. I would highly recommended this program especially to the parents at their wits end with nowhere to go with their kids.
ERIN LEONARD
This was a tranformational experience for our grandson. He has some behaviourial issues that found us at our wits end. We were exhausted and felt that we had run out of answers. Sending him to this camp was basically our last hope. I want to make clear that this camp doesn’t guarrantee that they’ll change. What it does do and establish a set of values for them that gives them a foundation from which to develop themselves. And that is what we’ve experienced since he returned. He wakes up early with no complaints, the complete opposite to what was the old routine. He’s showing more willingness to be more responsible. He’s thinking more about his choices. And most importantly, he’s reflecting on his life choices. He’s a different person. I can’t recommend this camp highly enough to parents that have run out of answers and need help pulling their child back onto the right track in life.

Our 14 year old son attended the Junior Leader Program in April. We sent a troubled young man and got back a confident, self assured mature young man who has continued to display self respect, resilience, patience and commitment to the disciplines that he learnt at camp. Since being back over a month now he has committed to PT, eating well and maintain a tidy bedroom and more commitment to his schooling, he has more direction now. I can and do highly recommend this program and think that every teenager would benefit from spending 9 days with the amazing mentors that facilitate this program. Thank you Veteran Mentors.

Subject: Thank you my family is transformed!
Dear Glenn and Troy,
Where do I begin!!!
Before camp, I felt lost, overwhelmed, and feeling defeated. I spent most nights crying and wondering if I could go on with my son living at home with me anymore. It had gotten so bad I was sure the next knock on the door would be someone telling me my son was dead or in jail.
Our home felt like a battlefield most days. Half of the time, I walked on eggshells, and the other half argued or wondered if my sons were coming home.
Booking the camp was taken on a final leap of faith as I was 99.9% sure I wasn’t even going to be able to get one of my boys in the car. We booked both our 15yr old and 13yr old in and hoped for the best. It was a power struggle, but the day came, and with minimal push, we were on our way with both our boys. The drop-off was quick, with no time to linger or overthink it. As we drove away, I felt a hit of emotions that caught me off-guard. I held back tears and wondered if I had done the right thing.
We accept children from age 12-17.
Children who attend our Program will learn our six Key Learning Areas (KLA); the same principles taught to us in the military. Values and Ethics, Self-Worth and Confidence, Teamwork, Responsibility, Resilience, and Health and Well-being. The Program is deliberately challenging and is designed to help participants move outside their comfort zones. The Program aims to provide the participant with the knowledge and self-awareness to be an engaged and contributing member of their community.
Our Junior Leadership Program is an all-inclusive, intensive experience like no other. We provide:
The cost is A$6,000 per child or A$5,500 if booked as an early-bird offer (future program). Interest-free finance options are available.
For participants with access to the NDIS, we may be able to offer NDIS-funded support (depending on your plan). Due to the additional 1-1 support and higher staffing ratios required for NDIS participants, our program cost is A$6,000 inc. (no early bird special).
This depends on the type and level of funding. Please get in touch with us directly to discuss your child’s eligibility for NDIS-funded support.
Due to the additional 1-1 support and higher staffing ratios required for NDIS participants, our JLP program cost is $6,500 inc. GST (no early bird special).
Please get in touch with DVA to find out if you can access up to $10,000 support per year for your child.
